East Texas Ranch

Mary Anne Smiley helped a young lady create an upscale ranch home to reflect her outdoor-oriented lifestyle and passion for hunting and riding-jumping. Hermes equine textiles mixed with colorful cowhide upholstery, and beloved family heirloom chandeliers and furniture mix with exquisite greyed wood furnishings appropriately reflecting to broad vistas of the surrounding ranch. A stump retrieved from a down tree on the ranch was used as the base for the powder sink.  An East Texas alligator hide looms menacing above the stairwell to the game room downstairs.  A pair of crystal chandeliers with a history of being used in one of the most prestigious addresses in Dallas, hang adjacent to Moose head trophies, and Black and White photos of the homeowner and her beloved steed.  The game room in the basement defies the fact that there are no windows in the space by use of murals on 3 walls of color photos taken by Richard Bettinger of scenes on the surrounding ranch, enlarged to almost life size full wall murals making it seem as though you are sitting outside the barn doors enjoying the view.
