Accent pillows are one of the best ways to bring color, pattern, texture, and panache into the interior design of a room. Thus my clients often spend quite a lot of money on custom accent pillows that I design using the most amazing textiles and leathers in endlessly divine combinations, knowing the striking effect of the perfect pillow will complete a room just as jewelry completes the couture ensemble.

Like many of you, I have always loved decorating for the holidays and certain seasons of the year. I have always known that one of the strongest statements in a room are the accent pillows. Thus it makes sense that the pillows would be the perfect accent to change to reflect the flavor of the season or holiday.

Yet, many of my clients would never consider changing the accent pillows for seasonal and holiday decorating. Mainly for 2 reasons: the expense already invested in the existing pillows, and the storage space required for a set of bulky pillows while the other set would be in use.

When it occurred to me that one of the reasons I didn't want to create seasonal pillows for my home was because they were too bulky to store after the holiday, I came up with the idea of SEASONAL SLIPCOVERS for pillows!

Slipcovers could be slipped over my existing pillows during the holiday, then removed, washed, and stored flat and folded after the holiday. Saving not only the cost of additional pillow inserts for seasonal pillows, but also requiring no storage space while the seasonal slip cover is in use, and minimal storage afterwards as the slipcovers could be folded flat like a pillow case!

I say let's start a new trend! Keep your lovely pillows, but let them have a rest by temporarily covering them up with a wonderful modern slipcover specifically designed for the season.
